Jamie and I still haven't come up with a middle name so I'm asking for help. Please post any and all ideas to help us get our minds working. Thank you!!

you dont know me, but i've been following your story and keeping you all in my prayers. i think "grace" is a perfect middle name for the little miracle baby. :)
We're someone else that you don't know (we're friends with Drea) but we've been following your blog too because our due dates were so close (our second daughter is due in Mid-May). I agree with the previous post that Grace would be a very fitting name. I'm so amazed at how strong you must be and glad to hear that Emma is doing well. We will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.
Ooo - I like Grace. That's totally sweet and fitting. I also know how much you wanted to use Jackson and I don't think there is anything wrong with Emma Jackson Schwaberow...! Unless you are still wanting to save it. Then I go back and vote for Emma Grace. Did you keep your middle name when you got married, you could give her yours...
I like Emma Joy. Or Emma Leia! How weird will it be one day when you explain to her that you put a vote out to everyone on the blog about a middle name. Will she ask what a Blog is?
I am also someone you don't know but I am friends with Steph and I have been so touched by your story. I also like the name Emma Grace it is pretty and so fitting. Emma is precious! We will keep you in our prayers!
--though I should throw my 2 cents in for Emma Jane, of course Laura would love the Emma Kate!! The pictures are so beautiful -- keep 'em coming. We're praying for you all everyday -- and we can't wait to visit Colorado soon to meet Emma.
Laura, I think Grandma is voting for Jane. I told her about this blog and she confirmed that your Great-Grandma Evans's middle name was Grace as I had thought. When I told her about Jane, she smiled and said, "I always thought someone should give a little girls in this family the middle name Jane and 'Emma Jane' sounds so cute."
Long post but short story . . . We originally chose "Ann" as Elizabeth's middle name to honor Melissa's late grandma. But we sort of share that tribute now. Like you guys, our stay in the hospital was "slightly" longer than we had planned - about four weeks longer. Anyway, during that time, there was one particular nurse practitioner who really got us through. She was an amazing person. She made the whole experience a little more bearable. She was always there to talk to us when all the medical jargon was just a little too over the top and she comforted us when we were feeling miserable (which was the norm). She even gave us her home number if we ever needed to talk. Anyway, her name was Ann and while we already had that middle name picked out, I attribute her as another reason why we selected it when people ask. Now, if her name was "Doorknob" or something like that, we probably would have paid homage in some other form or fashion. Anyway, if there is someone at the hospital who has been a similar crutch for you guys (and whose name isn't off the wall), consider going that route. Melissa, Elizabeth and I continue to send our best. We are looking forward to meeting Emma someday. She looks great. Here's to the three of you getting to your new home soon. Sean

Since your middle name is Hawaiian have you considered and Hawaiian names for Emma? Leia (Lay-ee-ah)means Child of Heaven. I think that is pretty :)

I also like the idea of doing something Hawaiian. Leilani also means something like child of heaven.
Mahno - means shark in Hawaiian (and she is a fighter!) tee hee, only kidding!
Or of couse you could go with Catherine, it is a wonderful name ;)

I'm pretty sure your Great-Grandmother Evans's middle name was Grace.
Grandma used to use Jane as a middle name for your mom, Katie and me when she was mad at us since none of us had middle names.
I like the Hawaiian idea too, but wasn't Emma conceived in Mexico? If so, how about something Mexican/Spanish?
