Happy June!

I can't believe it's June... school is out and the pool is open, where did spring go?

I officially resigned this week. I had been hoping that my company would allow me to work part-time from home since I can't take Emma to daycare and there is a good possibility that we'll be *quarantined* in our house this winter, but they wouldn't so I had to quit. Emma and I are super excited about this new adventure, Jamie is a tad scared ;) The walk-through went great this week and we're set to close on Friday! We are so, so excited to finally have a house again (you'll notice that many of the pictures this week were taken in bed, that's because it's basically our only option for space in our unit right now). Jamie's parents are coming on Saturday to help us get settled and paint and most importantly meet Emma. She's very excited to meet her Nonni and Papaw.

Emma is up to 6lbs 14oz this week... almost 7 lbs!! What a big girl :)

10 weeks old!

I don't have too much to report today. We've just kind of been hanging out and enjoying the nice weather. We did a little photo shoot this week at Jamie's studio. I think the pictures turned out really well :)
In house news we finally have a closing date... JUNE 6th!!! 2 weeks from today!!! Our walk-through is on Wednesday. I am so excited, it's finally coming together and I'm going to have all my clothes soon :)

Emma's *Aunt* Sam made her this hat, it doesn't stay on too well yet, but it's super cute!

T minus 1 weeks

It's hard to believe that I would still have a week to go if I were pregnant :) Emma had a great weekend, she went to her first bachelorette party and had brunch with some friends. She really is a social butterfly. The house is coming along. It's actually finished and they are working on the *punch list*, we're really hoping to close at the beginning of June, but no word yet.

2 months old!!

We survived our first week at home with her and I have to say that while it was a little crowded with the 3 of us being home in our one room house all week long, it was much easier when Jamie was here to help me. We had a fabulous first Mother's Day. Emma made me a beautiful photo book that chronicled her time in the NICU and we spend the day at my parents' house watching them fawn over their first grandchild (they are smitten!!).
this is Emma in her tiny little chair. you'll notice that she's working on her serious face a lot these days :)

yes, my parents looked like this all day long. they are ridiculously happy :)

Emma and Lisa Marie, my old Cabbage Patch Doll. That hat that LM is wearing fits Emma much better than her own hats.

Emma and her boyfriend Wills. He is 3 weeks younger than Emma, but he is what his parents call a "boss hog". I love that they struck matching poses :)

I told you that she's been working on her serious face :)

F A T T Y ! ! !

I know that one day Emma will have a complex because her mom gets so excited about how fat she is getting, but I swear one day I'll stop shoving food down her throat. As of today, at 8 weeks old, she is 5lbs 12oz!!! Way to go my girl!!
This week has gone very well so far. I mean she isn't sleeping through the night or anything, but I think we're all getting used to each other. One of my friends wrote a great post on her blog this morning about *playing grownups* when we were kids and it made me think that I used to love to pretend to be a mom when I was little (I guess I've been pretending to be a mom my entire life, just ask Suzie) and it still doesn't feel any different. It hasn't really sunk in that she is MINE (okay, she's Jamie's too) and that no one is going to take her away from me. It's wild... I have my very own baby. I am responsible for her for the rest of my life (I try not to think about that too much, because it's a little freaky). WILD.
Since people keep asking who we think she looks like:
Exhibit #1: Emma

Exhibit #2: Ivory

Any questions?

Grandpa got to have lunch with Emma today

Just hanging out in her chair

Emma FINALLY got to meet her BFF Meena, as you can see they love each other already. Meena was supposed to be 12 weeks older than Emma, but now she's only 12 days.

I can't believe I'm actually posting this photo, but Emma looks cute at least. Please remember this is very early in the morning.

2 nights down...

and a million more to go :)
We survived our first weekend. It's so amazing having Emma home finally! She's adjusting pretty well, though her stomach isn't liking the new formula they are fortifying my breast milk with (to add calories), but hopefully she'll either get used to it or we'll switch. We're figuring out her schedule and although the nights are hard, we're so grateful to have her home that we don't even care (or I don't care anyway, I think Jamie might care).
one last burp at the hospital

ready to go! look how tiny I look!
