More Side Effects of Pregnancy...

Last night at the grocery store this is what I bought (the ONLY 4 things I bought):

In case you can't see the similarities, everything is a little brown square of food. I didn't do it on purpose, and I didn't even realize it until this morning. But I think it's weird.

This next picture shows you 2 of the things I have to deal with. Yesterday my belly button became 100% outie. It looks SO weird (I'm sparing you the naked picture of it) and evidently when you get pregnant you also become a slob. I caught my reflection in the mirror at 10 am this morning. I had been at work for 2 hours and found FOUR stains on my shirt. This is what I looked like after I cleaned myself off :(

Great Weekend!!!

This weekend marked Tanya and I's 7th annual Birthday Party Extravaganza... and it was our 30th birthdays to boot! We had a great time this year and we appreciate everyone who came out to party with us. And a huge thanks to Drea for finding us a location and planning the party for us :) It was a little weird being sober, that is generally not the case ;)
Here are a couple photos, Drea has more on her blog if you are interested http://themaidenmetallurgist.blogspot.com/

The one good photo of Drea and I... we tried and tried, but kept failing!

I *let* Jamie do a little photo shoot with me yesterday, so here are my 23 week belly pictures, Jamie style ;) (yes, I'm even including a nekkid one... be nice ;))

I also think we might have found our baby bedding this weekend... Steph found it at her Target and called me to tell me, but ours didn't have it :( But my mom's did and she bought it for me and I'll get to see it this weekend. I think Steph did a great job, I guess all those hours of sending her every bedding I ever looked at paid off :) I think it's going to look great with our dark crib, and you can't beat the price!

A little entertainment

In addition to the blogs to the right ---> that I like to read, I've recently found this one and it cracks me up. I realize that the Labor and Delivery humor might not be for everyone, but I think it's quite funny ;)

Oh the excitement...

we bought a crib ;) I know, it doesn't get any better than that, does it? After 2 solid days of crib searching and tons of research this is what we decided on...

We didn't buy a dresser, we're going to wait and see what happens with the house and then decide what will fit in the nursery.

Speaking of the house, we had FOUR showings this weekend, which was awesome. However, we need to figure out a place to go when people call and want to see the house in 20 minutes. Right now we end up at a coffee house or restaurant which means that we're eating too much and spening too much money. Hopefully it will result in a new house, but in the meantime it's breaking the bank ;)

We had our *big* appointment and ultrasound last week. The good news is that my tears seem to have healed and I"m allowed to exercise and travel again. It feels so good to be able to move my body a little, and since I'm doing okay (and hopefully will stay that way) we booked a trip to Key West the 2nd weekend of February... yeah!!! The baby looks fantastic, s/he spent the whole ultrasound showing us his/her karate moves... we're in trouble, this baby is not one for sitting still! We have a video but I haven't figured out how to put that on the blog yet. Unfortunately due to all his/her moving around we didn't get very many good photos, but here are two.

Our child looking a bit like the spawn of satan :)

And a semi-okay profile shot

And, since Steph has been harping on me about my lack of belly shots, here is this week's (22 weeks!!!) :) I'm feeling pretty good, I think my body is starting to get used to this pregnancy thing. I'm trying to enjoy it while things are going well.

Happy Birthday to me!

I'm 30. 30 is OLD. I'm kind of surprised that I can still get out of bed in the morning ;)
Actually we had a really nice weekend. We met my parents and Cousin Kelly and Uncle Ted in Boulder for dinner on Friday. We went to Aji on Pearl and it was REALLY good. Everyone loved their meal and they actually had a virgin mojito that was pretty tastey!
Saturday Suzie and I went wedding dress shopping... I could do that every day of my life... wedding dresses are the most beautiful things in the world. Then Jamie and I went to Babies R Us... he claimed he wanted to take part in registering... I'm pretty sure he doesn't care if I do it without him anymore :) Then we headed to our friends Adam and Molly's house and Molly and I hung out with their daughter Ava who is just the cutest, roundest little girl, and the boys cooked for us! We had steamed artichokes, beet salad, french onion soup and crab cakes... delish!! We then had an exciting night of guitar hero, which I SUCK at!
Sunday we met my family for brunch at Wash Park Grille... if you want to eat, their brunch is awesome! They have a huge selection of food, and it's all really good!! We're also celebrating this Saturday with Suzie and Mike at Fruition, I'm so excited to finally eat there!!!

The best part of my birthday... Jamie surprised me with the diaper bag I've been drooling over. Yes, I know, a diaper bag... what kind of old lady have I turned into??? Well feast on this...

It doesn't even look like a diaper bag, does it?? Isn't it gorgeous??? I am so in love :)

Okay quick question here...

I just discovered that my maternity jeans have a functioning zipper. What exactly is the reasoning behind that? I'm not a guy, I don't need a zipper to pee. It doesn't "open" them up any and allow them to go on easier since there is a band above them. I am really, really confused. Does something happen later in my pregnancy that this might be useful for?

Thank you Paul!!!

Today I am wearing maternity jeans for the first time and not only are they comfortable, but I feel SO cute in them!!! HUGE thanks to my brother for purchasing such a wonderful gift (and having great taste to boot)!! I plan on wearing these every day for the next 5 months ;)

So, I'm back at work... oh yay. While I am glad to be out of bed, I would rather not be here... oh well :)

Not much else going on... I turn 30 this weekend, so now I'm old and can't drink... should be a blast ;)

Here is the latest belly picture for those of you that have been asking (19 weeks), the good news is that I'm almost halfway done with being pregnant... woo hoo!!! I sound like a giant whiny baby don't I? Sorry, I haven't been sleeping well and I feel kind of blah these days :(
