I just discovered that my maternity jeans have a functioning zipper. What exactly is the reasoning behind that? I'm not a guy, I don't need a zipper to pee. It doesn't "open" them up any and allow them to go on easier since there is a band above them. I am really, really confused. Does something happen later in my pregnancy that this might be useful for?

I always wondered why they even had a faux zipper. Man o man did I miss zipping my pants. It's really hard to go 6 or more months without zipping a zipper or buckling belt. I do a little celebration every time I put on a belt nowadays. Keep a hold of those mat pants in case you want to over indulge one Thanksgiving!

ok, here is my nerdy guess on the zipper - they take regular jeans, cut the regular waist band off and add the preggers band... too lazy to have a special design just for maternity jeans??
