My new home away from home...

We unfortunately had an eventful weekend as I was admitted to the hospital and will be here, on bed rest, for an undetermined amount of time. My placental abruption is back and it has taken a turn for the worse. Sunday they told me that I needed to be ready to deliver at any time (yes, 16 weeks early) and that I would be in the hospital until I delivered. Luckily my doctor gave me some good news yesterday and told me that there is a chance I'll get to go home (if the baby continues to grow well... meaning my placenta is functioning correctly, and I stop bleeding) in a month or 2, and she doesn't think I'm in imminent danger of delivering any time soon, which is music to my ears :) So I'm trying to stay positive and take it day by day... but here is a look at my new digs ;)

Honestly it hasn't been too bad... I have discovered what an amazing support system I have and they've already rallied around me and planned out a dinner schedule for the next 3 weeks. Everyone is so helpful and as hard as it is for me to accept help, I'm really trying to be gracious and accepting ;) I know that we have a long road ahead of us, and I'm so grateful to have such wonderful friends and family!
Luckily I got a lot done last week so I'm not feeling too deprived. I had a couple great meals. I met Ania and Miriam out at Soliel last week(http://www.soleildenver.com/). We had a fantastic meal of frites (w/ parm and white truffle oil), queso azul (blue cheese dip served with root vegetable chips), pizza with figs, mozzarella, gorgonzola, pine nuts and a balsamic reduction and a tomato and mozzarella salad. So fantastic! Then we followed up the meal with some gelato ;)
Friday I got my hair done... yay for pretty hair...
it is so much shorter, which isn't great for bed rest, but I really like it and it was nice to get pampered a bit ;)
Saturday I spent the day with my parents and my father cooked some great stuff for me as usual. My mom showed me my bedding (I didn't get to keep it because it's a shower gift) and it's SO cute!!! Then we had dinner at Osteria Marco (http://www.osteriamarco.com/) with Matt and Janet. This is one of my new favorite restaurants! They make their own cheeses (out of pasteurized milk) and they are so fantastic. We started with marinated olives, marcona almonds and their burrata cheese (homemade ricotta surrounded my a mozzarella shell) served on toast. Then I had an order of homemade mozzarella for dessert. Their cheese is SO good.
So at least I had a couple great meals this week to make up for Denver Restaurant Week that I'll be missing ;)
All in all I'm hanging in here and hoping to let my baby grow a bit more before it's ready to come out!

I love the hair! Makes me really want to get mine done too. It must help a little to feel pretty while you are stuck there. I hope the staff takes really good care of you and you are able to relax.- Kathryn

Can we come remodel your room? It needs color and artwork and new fabrics. White walls arent good for anyone. Your hair is the best part of the room. How will you do your belly shots in that SAME place all pregnancy if you cant even go home? This is so unfair. Please stay rested and let baby Schwab grow. Sounds like he's been eating well.
